— The Florida man charged with the murder of his girlfriend in New York has been arrested in New Jersey, the state’s attorney general said Tuesday.
Christopher M. Coughlin Jr., 25, was arrested Sunday night in Tuscaloosa, Fla., and charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping, the attorney general’s office said in a statement.
He was being held at the Orange County Jail in Orange County, where he was released on $1 million bail, said spokesman Brian Kelly.
Coughlin was arrested Monday in New Brunswick, N.J., after an investigation into the disappearance of a woman in Tostoax, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the investigation.
The woman, who was not identified, was found in the Tustoe Lake area of the state Monday morning.
